Prime Minister Modi to Grace Kashi Sansad Pratiyogita Award Ceremony and Inaugurate Development Projects in Varanasi
VARANASI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was accorded a warm reception upon his arrival at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Varanasi on Thursday night, amidst the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and numerous BJP supporters. The Prime Minister embarked on a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency with the intent of inaugurating several developmental initiatives totaling over ₹13,202 crore on February 23.
A senior official from the district administration disclosed, “The Prime Minister is slated to inaugurate 24 projects valued at ₹11,972 crores and lay the foundation stone for 12 projects valued at ₹2,195 crores.”
In addition to the inauguration of these projects, Prime Minister Modi will participate in a program at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), where he will confer awards upon the laureates of the Kashi Sansad Gyan Pratiyogita, Kashi Sansad Photography Pratiyogita, and Kashi Sansad Sanskrit Pratiyogita.
Dilip Patel, President of the Kashi region BJP, stated that Prime Minister Modi’s itinerary includes a visit to the Sant Ravidas Temple at Seergovardhan, where he will pay homage to Sant Ravidas and partake in the Langar, a community feast. Additionally, he will inaugurate various development projects valued at approximately ₹32 crore in and around Sant Ravidas Janmasthali, including the unveiling of a statue commemorating Sant Ravidas and the initiation of a museum and park beautification project valued at about ₹62 crore.
Prime Minister will extend educational resources, including books, uniforms, and musical instruments, as well as merit scholarships to Sanskrit students in Varanasi. He is also scheduled to engage with participants, showcasing their photographic submissions under the theme of Sanwarti Kashi.
